Brian’s Story: Recovery After Spinal Cord Injury

Brian Washington enjoyed his “Fabulous Farewell” with his care team from Inova Mount Vernon Hospital’s Inpatient Rehabilitation. Following an accident, Brian presented with weakness in all four limbs after suffering an incomplete spinal cord injury. He required significant assistance to complete dressing, sitting, standing and walking.

Brian worked incredibly hard for weeks and can independently care for himself, from dressing to walking and stair climbing. Brian was motivated and as dedicated as his care team, and we’re proud he’s regained a lifestyle founded on independence.
