Inova Personalized Health Accelerator Launches New Entrepreneur Education Program

Health System Driving Innovation by Developing the Next Generation of Healthcare Technology Entrepreneurs

Fairfax, VA – The Inova Personalized Health Accelerator (IPHA) announced today that it is launching a free educational program designed for first-time healthcare technology entrepreneurs. The program is designed to provide entrepreneurs with a comprehensive set of skills required to execute the commercialization and growth of personalized health technology companies. Entrepreneurs interested in participating in the program are encouraged to apply via the IPHA web site (http://www.inovapha.org/for-entrepreneurs/training-program/ ).

“While the National Capital region is rich in medical research and development infrastructure, there is a dearth of experienced entrepreneurial talent who can commercialize personalized health innovations,” said Todd Stottlemyer, CEO, Inova Center for Personalized Health. “Inova is committed to being a global leader in personalized health. This IPHA program serves as a key resource to identify and develop a unique community of entrepreneurs. Program graduates will be tomorrow’s personalized health CEOs.”

The seven-session curriculum will be delivered twice annually (i.e., Fall and Spring) at the Inova Center for Personalized Health in Fairfax, Virginia.

“Our goal is to attract and educate emerging entrepreneurs with a vision for the next generation of personalized health products and services” said Michael Thomas, IPHA Director. “Unlike other programs, we will be laser focused on what it takes to create a health startup, and we expect that many of the investments IPHA makes will be in companies that complete this program.”
