Inova and Valley Health System Develop New Partnership

Valley Partners joins with Signature Partners in Health, LLC

FALLS CHURCH, VA – September 23, 2015 – Signature Partners, a clinically integrated network of physicians and hospitals in Northern Virginia announced today that Valley Partners has joined the network. Valley Partners is a network of physicians serving the half million residents of Winchester, the Northern Shenandoah Valley, and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Their mission in concert with Signature Partners is to deliver high quality, patient centered, cost efficient care to the populations we serve through integration and coordination of services.

“Both Valley Partners and Signature Partners share the same goal; to participate in a Physician-led structure that will allow us to facilitate and promote the integration of health care providers into a coordinated and comprehensive patient care delivery system. This will assist us in providing high-quality, affordable and patient centered health care services,” said Matthew Poffenroth, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Signature Partners.

Valley Partners and Signature Partners recognize the need to deliver health care services efficiently by centering on improvements in quality and outcomes through care coordination and evidence-based medicine, facilitated by the use of integrated technology platforms.

“Valley Partners is thrilled to be collaborating with Signature Partners to improve the quality of health care in our communities while reducing unnecessary cost,” said Jeff Feit, MD, Valley Health Vice President of Population Health. “By working together we can share expertise and leverage the power of information technology to eliminate waste and drive towards best practices. This is a priority for us as we meet our commitment to the communities we serve.”

The agreement includes all Valley Health facilities and employed physicians, as well as some independent physicians affiliated with its hospitals and outpatient clinics. This collaboration is an element of the strategic alliance formed between Inova and Valley Health in 2013.
