Inova Alexandria Hospital prepares the community for life’s curveballs
Alexandria, VA (July 29, 2013) – Inova Alexandria Hospital will be having their 3rd Annual Emergency Management and Safety Fair on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in the hospital parking Lot on Howard Street in Alexandria. Families are invited to this fun event to learn easy ways to be ready and safe in the case of emergency events like natural disasters, terrorism and more.
Information booths will feature giveaways, safety information and ID and fingerprint kits. Family activities will include a petting zoo, moon bounce, fire and other emergency vehicles, and an obstacle course. In addition to cotton candy and ice cream, other refreshments will be provided courtesy of Firehouse Subs. Washington Mystics Player, Matee Ajavon will also be at the fair for autographs and photos.
“Here at Inova we believe that in order to be safe, you need to establish plans and know what resources are available in case of an emergency,” said Gavin Latney, Director of Safety and Security at Inova Alexandria Hospital, “this fair brings that education and awareness right to the community.”

There will be information booths from, American Red Cross, Alexandria Health Department, Alexandria Police and Fire Department, Department of Motor Vehicles, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and many more.
