Inova Loudoun Hospital Ladies Board Accepting Applications for Scholarships

Ladies Board to Give More Than $95,000

Leesburg, VA – (March 12, 2009) — The Scholarship Committee of the Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking applicants interested in the profession of nursing. Previous recipients and applicants are also encouraged to reapply.

Scholarships are given to students as supplemental aid. In 2008–2009, $102,000 was awarded to 72 students in amounts ranging from $500 to $2,200. Criteria for selection include:

  • Proof of residence or employment in Loudoun County.
  • A copy of letter of acceptance into an accredited School of Nursing. This is a required part of the application. Funds are not available for pre-clinical studies.
  • Establishment, in writing, of financial need.
  • A record of academic performance.

 

Scholarship applications are available at the Gift Shop at Inova Loudoun Hospital, 44045 Riverside Parkway, Lansdowne; at the Loudoun Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 235 Old Waterford Road NW, in Leesburg; at the Twice Is Nice thrift shop, 305 E Market Street, Leesburg; and on the Web at www.LadiesBoard.org. Applications should be submitted as soon as possible. The deadline is Tuesday, April 7.
