U.S. News & World Report Names Inova Fairfax Hospital #1 Best Hospital in Virginia and Washington, DC for Fifth Year in a Row
Fairfax, VA – Inova is proud to announce that Inova Fairfax Hospital has been named the #1 Best Hospital in Virginia and the Washington, DC metropolitan region by U.S. News & World Report for the fifth consecutive year. Inova Fairfax Hospital also ranked #32 in the nation for Obstetrics and Gynecology care, up from #36 in 2024. Inova Alexandria Hospital tied for the #7 Best Hospital in DC and #12 in Virginia. Inova Loudoun Hospital ranked #9 in DC and tied for #16 in Virginia.
U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions; only 13% of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals designation.

In addition to overall best hospital rankings, all five Inova hospitals received recognition for high performance in several specialties and common adult procedures and conditions.

To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals Specialty rankings methodology and Procedures & Conditions ratings methodology measure patient outcomes using data from over 800 million records of patient care.
