Inova Cares for Behavioral Health expands patient criteria

Adolescents 14 years and older now eligible

Leesburg, VAInova Cares for Behavioral Health (ICBH) is now accepting adolescent patients 14 years and older with mild to moderate mental health challenges including stress, anxiety, grief and depression. ICBH provides mental health counseling services to adolescents and adults who are uninsured and eligible for Inova’s Financial Assistance program or who are covered by Virginia Medicaid. ICBH is located on the Inova Loudoun Hospital – Cornwall Campus, 211 Gibson St, NW Suite 220, Leesburg, VA. While located in Loudoun County, the clinic provides free transportation if needed anywhere within Northern Virginia to and from in person sessions. Virtual sessions are also provided, and interpreter services are available for in person and virtual sessions.

According to the World Health Organization, one in seven adolescents experiences a mental disorder including depression, anxiety and behavioral challenges. The consequences of failing to address adolescent mental health conditions extend to adulthood, impacting both physical and mental health throughout the lifespan.

Providing care to adults and now youth 14-18 years old is a response to regional need. “ICBH’s expanded commitment to adolescents within our community is vitally needed,” noted Karen Berube, Chief, Community Health & Health Equity, SVP, Inova. “In partnership with community stakeholders and government, this behavioral health service illustrates the care and compassion with which we respond to the needs of adults and adolescents throughout the Northern Virginia community.”

Specifics related to this new service include:
