Fairfax, VA — Inova today celebrated the addition of an Inova Cares Clinic for Children (ICCC) in Manassas, Virginia, to its existing Inova Cares Clinic for Families, offering both family and comprehensive pediatric services for children on Medicaid or without insurance in Prince William County.

“Regular appointments with the same healthcare team, providing consistency in treatment and a high level of preventative care provide significant benefits for children and their families, but all too often this seems out of reach for the underinsured or uninsured,” observed Karen Berube, Chief, Community Health and Health Equity, and SVP, Inova Health System. “In alignment with our mission to provide care to every child in our community, we are dedicated to making sure all children and their families have access to a high-quality, supportive medical home that provides comprehensive services ranging from sick visits and sports physicals to immunizations and nutritional counseling.”

Recognizing Inova’s commitment to improve the health of the diverse community served, UnitedHealthcare® Community Plan of Virginia joined Inova in providing child-friendly accommodations and instructional material supporting the ICCC-Manassas outreach. The space is designed to encourage connections and foster conversations on the health of children between parents, caregivers and providers. The space includes resources for children from birth to five years old, such as books, wall murals and activities about resiliency and building confidence.

“We are proud to collaborate with Inova as they launch an additional clinic for children,” said Tameeka Smith, CEO, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Virginia. “At UnitedHealthcare, we recognize how important it is for parents and caregivers to have access to health and wellness resources and services to help their children live healthier lives.”
