Critical Need for Blood Donors – Now is The Time to Donate and Save Lives

Falls Church, VAInova Blood Donor Services has an immediate need for blood donations from local donors to recover the blood supply for our community. Current blood supply levels are critically low in the Washington DC metropolitan area and across the United States. Our supply can only be replenished with donations from volunteer blood donors. All blood types and all donation types – whole blood, platelets and double red cells – are needed.

It is safe to donate blood. Inova Blood Donor Services has several safety measures in place due to COVID-19 to provide a safe donation experience for blood donors who visit their local donor center.

To ensure we can continue to provide an adequate and safe blood supply for our community’s patients, please schedule an appointment today. It is imperative to increase and maintain the blood supply to support our community’s sickest patients. Inova Blood Donor Services supports a Level One Trauma Center and two Level Three Trauma Centers in Northern Virginia. There is no substitute for human blood when it is needed for a patient.

Each donation can save up to three lives, and it takes less than an hour to donate.

Make your appointment or ask questions about your eligibility to donate in the next few days by calling 1-866-BLOODSAVES (1-866-256-6372) or visiting inovablood.org.
