Inova Heart and Vascular Institute’s Schaufeld Family Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center Opens New Space
Leesburg, VA — Inova Loudoun Hospital is proud to announce the opening of its new Inova Heart and Vascular Institute (IHVI) – Schaufeld Family Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center in the North Patient Tower. This space is double the size of the previous location with over 6,000 square feet offering space for clinical programs and includes a walking track, state-of-the-art telemetry system, patient education room, locker rooms with showers and support spaces for team members.
IHVI’s cardiac rehabilitation program offers medically supervised exercise and education for adults with heart disease. The program begins in the hospital and continues on an outpatient basis. In addition to the Inova Loudoun location, the program is offered at three other Inova locations in Northern Virginia: Inova Alexandria Hospital, Inova Fairfax Hospital and Inova Mount Vernon Hospital.
Inova’s comprehensive pulmonary rehabilitation program is a medically supervised, therapeutic treatment program designed to help patients with pulmonary disease improve their quality of life and exercise capacity. This program is offered at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Inova Alexandria Hospital and Inova Loudoun Hospital.
This new location, like all Inova cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation locations, is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). This means that Inova has been recognized for its commitment to improving the quality of life by enhancing standards of care.
The IHVI Schaufeld Family Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center at Inova Loudoun Hospital was partially funded through the generosity of the Schaufeld family, whose tremendous support of the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute – Schaufeld Family Heart Center has had a significant impact on our community’s cardiovascular health over the past 15 years.
