Media Advisory: Give Thanks and Give Blood at Inova Blood Donor Services Black Friday Donation Event

Sterling, VA – Take a break from shopping on Black Friday and help us boost the blood supply!  We must ensure a steady supply of blood is available for patients in the hospitals we serve during the holiday season.  As a thank you, all donors will receive a $10 gift card* of their choice!  As always, will provide special snacks.

Did you know that less than 38% of the U.S. population is eligible to donate and less than 10% of the eligible population actually makes time to donate?  All blood transfused in hospitals comes from volunteer blood donors. Blood donations take less than an hour and can help save up to three patients.

Photo ID Required. Please allow one hour for your blood donation. Please allow 90-120 minutes for your platelet donation. Platelet donors should not take any aspirin or aspirin-related products within 48 hours prior to donation. Visit inovablood.org to learn more about platelet donation.
