8k, Half Marathon, LoCo Mile, LoCo Challenge Produced by the Ashburn Area Running Club

Ashburn, VA – The Ashburn Area Running Club’s Loudoun Half Races, presented by Inova Heart and Vascular Institute – Schaufeld Family Heart Center, is proud to announce the fifth running of the Loudoun Half & 8k on April 21 and 22. The LoCo Challenge, an opportunity to run both the 8k and the Half Marathon, and the LoCo Mile will be offered again this year.  Named the “2014 & 2015 Best Half Marathon of the Mid-Atlantic Region” by the readers of Competitor Magazine.

“These races are a wonderful opportunity for our community to get moving and either start or maintain a healthy lifestyle. We are proud to sponsor this event, promoting health and wellness,” said Stacey Metcalfe, Director of Government and Community Relations, Inova Loudoun Hospital.

The schedule:

Saturday, April 21

8 a.m.             8k (4.98 miles) starts at One Loudoun

8:05 a.m.        LoCo Mile starts at One Loudoun

Sunday, April 22

7 a.m.             Half Marathon (13.1 miles) starts at Broad Run High School

All online registered runners will receive a short sleeve technical commemorative race shirt. All 8k, Half Marathon and LoCo Challenge finishers will receive a finisher’s medal at the finish line.

Teams are welcome for the 8k and Half Marathon races.

Since 2013, the Loudoun Half Races has raised over $85,000 giving a portion of the proceeds to Track & Field and Cross Country school programs in Loudoun County.
