Tech Entrepreneur and Business Strategist to Co-lead Accelerator with Personalized Health Focus
Fairfax, VA – October 18, 2017 – The Inova Personalized Health Accelerator (IPHA) announced today that area investor and business strategist Rick Gordon has been appointed Director. He is a proven leader with more than 25 years of experience in providing organizations with strategic growth direction. Prior to joining Inova, Rick served as founding managing partner of MACH37, a market centric cybersecurity accelerator supported by a community of hundreds of industry leaders who contributed to company development. During his tenure at Mach37, Rick led investments in 46 disruptive technology companies.
Prior to this role, Rick served as Vice President of Product Management at KEYW Corporation, COO of Lookingglass Cyber Solutions, Inc., Managing Director at The Civitas Group, CEO of Tovaris, and a technology investment banker at Bear, Stearns & Co. Rick served as a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy. He received his MBA from The Darden School at the University of Virginia and his BS in Engineering with Merit from the U.S. Naval Academy.
“We’re thrilled to have Rick on the team,” said Todd Stottlemyer, CEO of the Inova Center for Personalized Health (ICPH). “His combination of experience leading, mentoring, and investing in early stage companies makes him a perfect fit for our team.”
IPHA, a variation on the traditional accelerator model, is differentiated by rolling admissions; with a limit of no more than 6 companies at one time and customized programs that provide individual companies the capital investment, mentoring, and networking they need to accelerate the development and commercialization of their products. The program also affords companies direct access to the Inova Health System to validate innovations and demonstrate value.
