As running increases in popularity across Loudoun County, many of the high schools unfortunately do not have sufficient funding for their track & field and cross country programs. The Loudoun Half Marathon & 8k raises money to supplement the schools’ budgets to enhance these and other athletic programs.

Since 2013, the Loudoun Half Races has raised over $65,000 with a portion of the proceeds to Loudoun County school Track & Field and Cross Country programs. The 2017 school recipients are:

  • Broad Run HS Track & Field and Cross Country
  • Freedom HS Track & Field and Cross Country
  • Heritage HS Track & Field and Cross Country
  • John Champe HS Track & Field and Cross County
  • Loudoun County HS Track & Field and Cross Country
  • Riverside HS Track & Field and Cross Country
  • Rock Ridge HS Track & Field and Cross County
  • Stone Bridge HS Track & Field and Cross Country

Water stations throughout the 8k and half marathon courses will show school spirit as our events’ school beneficiaries’ track teams will power you through with course cheering support and encouragement in addition to water and electrolytes.
