Inova Mount Vernon Hospital Physician Sameer Nagda, MD Named Team Physician for U.S. Olympic Women’s Soccer Team

ALEXANDRIA, VA – July 20, 2016 – The United States Soccer Federation and the United States Olympic Committee have named Inova Mount Vernon Hospital orthopaedic surgeon Sameer Nagda, MD, a team physician for the United States Olympic Women’s soccer team for the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Dr. Nagda is an orthopaedic sports medicine specialist at the renowned Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic and Inova Mount Vernon Hospital.  He also serves as assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at the Georgetown University School of Medicine.

“It is an honor and privilege to be a part of the medical team taking care of the US Women’s soccer team,” notes Dr. Nagda.  “Our medical team takes great pride in providing world-class clinical care for the women who will be representing the United States in Rio next month, to defend the gold medal won in London in 2012.”

In addition to his work with US Soccer and the United States Olympic Committee Dr. Nagda currently serves as the team physician for the Potomac Nationals Baseball Team, and was an assistant orthopaedic physician for Georgetown University.

Dr. Nagda is a sought-after orthopaedic sports specialist and speaker, and is a member of the prestigious American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine.  He annually serves as Program Director for the Inova Sports Medicine Program’s “Sports Medicine Symposium,” hosted at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital.
