Inova Mount Vernon Hospital Named a “Business of the Year” by Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce

Alexandria, VA – November 19, 2014 – Inova Mount Vernon Hospital has been recognized as the 2014 “Large Business of the Year” by the Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce. The award honors Inova Mount Vernon Hospital’s partnership with local businesses and organizations to enhance health and well-being and promote economic vitality across the region.

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital will be recognized with other awardees at the Chamber’s annual Holiday Business Awards Celebration on December 19^th at the Mount Vernon Country Club. At the event, in addition to honoring top local businesses, the Chamber will recognize the year’s top corporate citizen and non-profit organization.

Holly Hicks Dougherty, Executive Director of the Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber, remarks that “Inova Mount Vernon Hospital has long been an anchor of our community. Since 1976, the hospital has promoted good health and provided healing to countless local residents. It also serves as a vital and contributing partner with the area’s thriving business community.”

Inova Mount Vernon annually works with local schools, churches and social service agencies to sponsor health fairs, support groups, wellness classes and health screenings, to extend its philosophy of care beyond the hospital’s walls and into the community.
