Inova CEO Knox Singleton to Speak at U.S. News & World Report Leadership Forum

FALLS CHURCH, VA – September 26, 2014 – Knox Singleton, CEO, Inova Health System, will join top health care experts and policymakers at the second annual U.S. News & World Report “Hospital of Tomorrow” leadership forum. The summit will be held October 6 – 8, 2014, in Washington, DC, and will address the critical challenges facing the hospital industry today and aims to develop strategies and solutions to better equip hospitals for the future.

Mr. Singleton will participate in a session entitled “Straddling Two Worlds: Volume and Value,” that will focus on how most hospital CEOs are trying to maximize the still predominant volume-based business, while transitioning their institutions for tomorrow’s value-based reimbursement systems. Other sessions will highlight the innovations and techniques that are helping hospitals navigate the rapid changes brought on by the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

In its first year, the Hospital of Tomorrow drew more than 500 hospital and healthcare executives, medical experts, policymakers, insurers, consumer advocates and industry analysts from across the United States.

“The combined impact of these leading thinkers in unsurpassed,” said Brian Kelly, editor and chief content officer, U.S. News & World Report. “We’re fortunate to have the benefit of their expertise, insight and experience to further our work toward improving patient care and preparing hospitals for tomorrow’s healthcare landscape.”

U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals report recently ranked Inova Fairfax Hospital as the #1 hospital in the Washington, DC, area, and it lists all five of Inova’s hospitals among the top 15 best in the metropolitan area, and the top 20 in Virginia.
