Inova’s Annandale Treasure Trove Celebrates 50th Anniversary

ANNANDALE , VA – (April 18, 2013) – In addition to providing more than a thousand hospital volunteers and hundreds of thousands of service hours each year,  the Auxiliary of Inova Fairfax Hospital also operates the hospital’s gift shops and three Treasure Trove Thrift and Consignment stores. This week the Annandale location celebrates 50 years of supporting the mission and services on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus.

“As a not-for-profit, Inova depends on the support of our community to achieve our mission,” shared Tony Burchard, President of the Inova Foundation. He continues, “The Auxiliary and their Treasure Trove stores provide vital funding to our programs and services. Recently, they partnered with Physician Transport Services to provide Inova Children’s Hospital with a critical care, pediatric and neonatal ambulance.”

The Treasure Trove shops are certainly an asset to Inova their communities. They also play a vital role in the closets of many of our region’s most fashionable women (and men). The shops have been recognized by Washingtonian, fashion bloggers and women in the know as the place to go to find gently used and vintage designer bags, clothing, jewelry, furniture and home accents.

The Annandale Treasure Trove will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a special event for invited guests and for volunteers—many of whom have worked in the store for several decades. The pediatric ambulance they helped purchase will be on site for the festivities. The anniversary will also include a sale, which will kick off on Friday, April 19, and run through the weekend.

The store is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. For more information,  visit www.treasuretroveannandale.com.
