Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children Rocks Out in the Name of Charity

“Every Kid’s a Rock Star” to Raise Funds for Pediatric Services

Falls Church, VA – (February 20, 2009) — Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children will host its “Every Kid’s a Rock Star” fundraising event on Sunday, March 1, at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner. More than 300 families, hospital staff and donors are expected to get their groove on at the 1960’s and 70’s -themed event.

Designed to be an afternoon of fun for the whole family, the festivities will include live musical entertainment by The Paul Green School of Rock from Philadelphia, interactive entertainment and a silent auction. Children can ride a virtual roller coaster, get airbrush tattoos, fill up on Sandy Candy, and meet Dimmer, an interactive robot. They can also get special Andy Warhol-style photo mementos and meet Miss Virginia Outstanding Teen 2008 Lexie Overholt, a local teenager from Oakton, Va.

Adults can join in the fun with the Nike golf hole-in-one challenge and the “green screen station,” where you can appear to surf, snowboard or play tennis.

Items for auction include Britney Spears concert tickets, Wizards basketball tickets, an overnight stay plus a holiday tea for two at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel and a Nike one-week summer golf camp for children.
