New 1.2 million-square-foot Inova campus poised to become future of medical technology, Fairfax County Times

The 117 acres of land off of Gallows Road in Merrifield once occupied by Exxon Mobil has gone quiet since the energy giant vacated its premises in 2012, but if everything goes according to plan, the campus will soon become a hub of scientific and technological innovation that will make Fairfax County a destination for the global medical community.

In a major collaboration between the Commonwealth of Virginia and research institutions like the University of Virginia and George Mason University, Inova Health System has spent the past few years working to transform 1.2 million square-feet of office space into the Inova Center for Personalized Health to house clinics, research labs, a cancer institute, and other vital functions that officials hope will pave the way for the future of healthcare.
