Inova Loudoun Hospital Opening New Emergency Care Center

Community is Invited to an Open House on Wednesday, May 1 at 6 p.m.

Leesburg, VA – (April 23, 2013) – Inova Loudoun Hospital will celebrate the opening of the new Inova Emergency Care Center, 224A Cornwall Street NW, Leesburg, on Wednesday, May 1 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to an open house and official ribbon cutting of the new facility.

“In keeping with our promises, we are improving the access to expanded emergency healthcare for western Loudoun County residents,” commented H. Patrick Walters.

The new Emergency Care Center is state-of-the-art with:

• 19 private rooms including 14 exam rooms (with a window in most rooms), four rooms designed for mental health patients and one gynecology room
• Two bay trauma room, two bed triage area
• Facility expansion from 9,539 to 12,823 square feet
• New and expanded lab
• Enhancements to diagnostic imaging services, including an additional CT scanner
• Medication room and nourishment room
• Electronic Medical Record, EpicCare, linked to all Inova facilities

The new Emergency Care Center will start seeing patients on Thursday, May 2 at 5 a.m.

“We are planning a seamless transition from the current emergency department to the new facility. There won’t be any interruption of care for our patients,” continued Walters.
