Falls Church, VA – September 8, 2014 – Firefighters, police officers, and deputy sheriffs will join the national Guardians of the Ribbon, Pink Heals Tour, and its local Virginia Chapters, Monday, September 8, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, 3300 Gallows Rd, Falls Church, VA 22042 to support women battling cancer.
The Pink Heals Tour motto is: Supporting Women, Raising Awareness. The focus of the group is on women survivors; however, support is given to everyone battling all types of cancers.
Pink fire engines, fire trucks, and police cruisers, along with local firefighters, police officers, and deputy sheriffs will don pink t-shirts to show solidarity during the event. Local residents who have been affected by cancer will have a chance to autograph or sign the pink vehicles. Firefighters, dressed in pink fire-fighting gear, will visit children in their rooms at the hospital.
The event is designed to honor and inspire women who have fought the battle against cancer.
