Inova Fairfax Hospital Progressive Coronary Care Unit Receives Silver Beacon Award for Excellence from American Association of Critical-Care Nurses

Designation marks significant milestone on the path to exceptional patient care and achieving a healthy work environment

Falls Church, VAAugust 2, 2019 – The Progressive Coronary Care Unit (PCCU) of Inova Fairfax Hospital has received the Silver Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).

The Beacon Award for Excellence recognizes unit caregivers who successfully improve patient outcomes and align practices with AACN’s six Healthy Work Environment Standards. Units achieving this three-year award meet national criteria consistent with Magnet® Recognition, the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and the National Quality Healthcare Award.
