Inova Loudoun Hospital Ladies Board Elects New Officers

The Ladies Board LogoLeesburg, VA – Susan Mills has been elected the 40th president of The Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital. She and a new slate of officers assumed leadership in July and will serve through June 2020.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to serve with this amazing group of women who truly make a difference in our local community,” said Mills, who is retired from Loudoun County Public Schools.

“Our enthusiastic members enjoy working together to provide funding for nursing scholarships, to support patient care, and to assist in the funding of special equipment and projects at Inova Loudoun Hospital,” added Mills. “My goals include continuing the cooperative spirit between the local community and the hospital and adding 10 new Ladies Board members.”

“Now that I am retired, I have more time to give back to my community and The Ladies Board,” Mills concluded.

Other new officers are Mary Paul Jones, first vice president; Teresa Wheeler, second vice president; Hazel Saffell, treasurer; Nancy Burgess, recording secretary; Teck Russell, corresponding secretary; Deborah Kellner, parliamentarian; and Becky Ottinger, historian.

The 106-year-old Ladies Board gave $265,944 to the hospital and awarded another $110,500 in nursing scholarships during the fiscal year ending June 30. There are 89 active members that participate in numerous fundraising efforts including two retail shops, Twice Is Nice and the Inova Loudoun Gift Shop; the Annual Ladies Board Rummage Sale; the Polly Clemens Nursery Fund; and the Lights of Love remembrance program. Net proceeds from these projects are used to support patient care and special projects at Inova Loudoun and to award nursing scholarships each spring.
