Leesburg, VA – December 20, 2016 – The Medical Staff Executive Committee of Inova Loudoun Hospital donated $5,000 to Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter (LAWS) in recognition of the outstanding service that LAWS provides to our community.
“We respect and appreciate the support that LAWS provides for adult and child victims of domestic and sexual violence in our community. Inova Loudoun Hospital has consistently supported other non-profit organizations in Loudoun County and we are happy to continue that tradition with LAWS,” said Dr. Jill McCabe, Vice President of the Medical Staff at Inova Loudoun Hospital.
LAWS will use the donation to increase their advocacy to sexual assault victims receiving forensic exams through the Inova FACT Department; respond to increased hotline calls in which the police have completed risk assessments to assess the victim’s risk of being seriously injured or killed; and provide more prevention efforts, specifically with youth.
“We are thrilled to receive this generous donation and humbled that the Inova Loudoun Hospital Medical Executive Committee choose LAWS. We are so grateful for Inova Loudoun Hospital’s partnership and Loudoun is fortunate to have a wonderful community hospital,” commented Nicole Acosta, LCSW, Executive Director, LAWS.
