Dr. Richard Neville Joins Inova Heart and Vascular Institute as Director of Vascular Services

FALLS CHURCH, VA – July 27, 2016 – Inova today announced that Richard F. Neville, MD, FACS, is joining the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute (IHVI) as the Director of Vascular Services. Dr. Neville will also serve as Associate Director of IHVI and Vice Chairman, Surgical Sub-specialties.

Dr. Neville comes to Inova from George Washington University, where he served as the Ludwig Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery; and Georgetown University where he was the Chief of Vascular Surgery. He earned Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame and medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Neville obtained postgraduate training in general surgery at Georgetown University, vascular surgery at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – New Jersey Medical School, and endovascular therapy at the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Neville’s clinical interests include lower extremity revascularization (vein patch bypass, stent/angioplasty), wound healing, amputation prevention, carotid artery treatment for stroke prevention, varicose veins and dialysis access.

Dr. Neville is a national and international lecturer, having published more than 100 manuscripts, 200 abstracts and 150 invited lectures while remaining actively involved in research and the education of students, residents, fellows, and other physicians. He is board certified in vascular surgery and belongs to several medical societies, including the American College of Surgeons, Society for Vascular Surgery, and Southern Association for Vascular Surgery.

  • Dr.Richard Neville is the Best !! He did surgery on my dad and if it weren't for his Surgery I would not had 2 more years with my Dad . So glad I know where he is calling in morning make my appointment.

  • I love Dr. Neville. He saved my leg/life. He is a very compassionate and caring.ive been a patient since 2015. He did a bypass on my legs and it went extremely well. He's the BEST.
