In an Emergency, Where is the Right Place for Treatment – an Urgent Care Center or Emergency Department
Leesburg, VA – February 3, 2014 – When you or someone you love is injured, where should you go for treatment – an Urgent Care Center or an Emergency Department? Even minor emergencies deserve major attention but where is the best place to go?
“First, try to quickly determine if the injury or illness is major or minor, this is the best way to decide which type of medical facility to seek care. If you suspect someone is suffering from a stroke or a heart attack go to the Emergency Department. Someone suffering from cough and sore throat would be better visiting an Urgent Care Center,” commented Dr. Edward Puccio, Medical Director, Department of Emergency Medicine, Inova Loudoun Hospital.
