Ladies Board Seeking Applicants for Nursing Scholarships

The Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking Loudoun County residents or Loudoun County employees to apply for a nursing scholarship. The application deadline is Wednesday, April 10.  The Ladies Board has been awarding nursing scholarships since 1959 when an initial sixteen scholarships were awarded. Last year, we awarded 77 scholarships in amounts from $700 to $1,800, which also included two special scholarship awards of $5,000 each to celebrate our 100th Anniversary.

The Ladies Board is gratified that through the sales at the Hospital Gift Shop and Twice Is Nice Thrift Shop in Leesburg, the Lights of Love Remembrance program and their annual Rummage Sale, they are able to share with the community and Inova Loudoun Hospital the results of their volunteer time and energy.

Applicants must live or work in Loudoun County and be enrolled in or accepted into an accredited school of nursing.  Funds are not available for pre-clinical studies.  Applications are available at the Twice Is Nice Thrift Shop in Leesburg, the Gift Shop at Inova Loudoun Hospital, the Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leesburg, and online at www.ladiesboard.org.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, April 10.  No application will be considered if postmarked later than April 10. For more information call Joyce Biesecker at 703-777-6357.
