Inova Loudoun Hospital Starts, Totally Hot and Happy! Menopause Support Group

Next Meeting February 21 at 6:30 p.m.

Leesburg, VA – (January 29, 2013) – Inova Loudoun Hospital is beginning a free, monthly Menopause Support Group, Totally Hot and Happy.  The purpose of the support group is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment for those going through menopause.  The group will meet the third Thursday of the month from 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Inova Loudoun Hospital, 44045 Riverside Parkway, Leesburg in the second floor Patient Education Room.

Menopause is a normal part of a woman’s life and results in the end of menstrual periods.  Menopause can occur naturally, or it can be a result of surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation.  Perimenopause, the transitional phase, which leads to menopause, can start many years earlier in a woman’s life.  Menopause is a season of a woman’s life, that is a time of change, including physical symptoms, possibly emotional changes and social adjustments too.   The Post-Menopausal phase requires continued regular visits with your GYN practitioner or physician and staying in tune with your body.   Totally Hot and Happy is a support group providing attendees a positive and uplifting time of sharing and acceptance.  The most recent Evidence Based Research on the topic of all stages of Menopause, discussions on the latest treatments and healthy changes in your lifestyle, and presenting informative and excellent speakers will all be provided.  This group has been formed with you in mind.  Please come be a part of this empowering group.
