Inova Juniper Program Opening New Arlington Location

Program Largest Provider of HIV/AIDS Care in Northern VA

Falls Church, VA  – (June 10, 2009) — Inova Health System’s Juniper Program, Northern Virginia’s largest provider of HIV/AIDS care, will observe the opening of its new Arlington, VA, location on Wednesday, June 17.  Since 1988, the Inova Juniper Program has offered all aspects of primary medical care and mental health, substance abuse and case-management services to HIV-positive individuals.

“With the recent closing of Whitman Walker Clinic of Northern Virginia, the Inova Juniper Program will collaborate with other providers in the region to offer high-quality care for the residents of Arlington,” said Karen Berube, LCSW, CSAC, director, Inova Juniper Program. “Having these services in the community will increase accessibility to care and enhance health outcomes for those living with HIV.”

Inova Juniper Program will celebrate the Arlington location opening on Wednesday, June 17, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at 5015 Lee Highway, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22207. Speakers will include:

  • Knox Singleton, president and CEO, Inova Health System
  • Senator Mary Margaret Whipple, 31st District, Virginia State Senate
  • Chairman Barbara Favola, Arlington County Board
  • Vice-Chairman Jay Fisette, Arlington County Board

The new clinic will be open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Services will include:

  • Primary medical care
  • Diagnostic and lab services
  • Pregnancy management
  • Medication assistance
  • Nutrition counseling
  • Mental-health therapy
  • Substance-abuse counseling
  • Support groups and more

Inova Juniper Program provides care to more than 900 persons in the Northern Virginia area living with HIV/AIDS. It also provides services in:

  • Springfield, VA
  • Alexandria, VA
  • Dumfries, VA
  • Reston, VA
  • Manassas, VA
