Art Sivaslian Named Chief Growth Officer for Inova Mount Vernon Hospital

Executive Brings More than a Decade of Experience

Alexandria, VA  – (June 22, 2009) — Inova Mount Vernon Hospital recently named Art Sivaslian chief growth officer and assistant vice president of operations. Sivaslian’s duties will include hospital planning, physician growth, and new and existing business ventures for the hospital, in coordination with Inova Health System.

Before coming to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, Sivaslian served as director of strategic planning and development for Inova Health System. He was instrumental in leading growth initiatives that continue to benefit the diverse communities served by Inova hospitals.

“Art’s leadership and management experience will help strengthen the bond between our hospital, the community and its leaders, as well as physicians and staff,” said Barbara Doyle, CEO, Inova Mount Vernon Hospital. “His contributions will continue to encourage innovation and outreach, and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital.”

As director of strategic planning and system development, Sivaslian was responsible for strategic planning activities for Inova Mount Vernon and Inova Alexandria hospitals.

Furthermore, he was responsible for System-level planning for radiology, orthopedics, behavioral health and rehabilitation services.  Before joining Inova Health System, Sivaslian worked at Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic and Johns Hopkins Medicine.  While at Hopkins, he served as an assistant administrator, and structured a venture with King Edward Hospital of Bermuda to install and operate the island’s first MRI.  He also developed strategies that led to improvement in productivity at Johns Hopkins.

Sivaslian earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and a Master’s degree in health administration from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University.
