Inova Fairfax Hospital Recognized by Fairfax County Leadership for Outstanding Quality Care

Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Recognizes Hospital as One of ‘America’s 50 Best Hospitals’

Falls Church, VA   – (May 18, 2009) — Inova Fairfax Hospital was recognized today by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors for providing world-class healthcare to the county. The hospital recently made national headlines after HealthGrades® named Inova Fairfax one of “America’s 50 Best Hospitals” for 2008.

“What a feather in our caps to have Inova Health System recognized as one of the best 50 hospitals in the country!” said Sharon Bulova, Chairman, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. “Inova consistently demonstrates excellence in the delivery of healthcare to our community. It’s great to have affirmation of that fact from the HealthGrades organization.”

HealthGrades is an independent healthcare-ratings organization that ranks the quality of hospitals based exclusively on clinical outcomes. Hospitals that made the list have mortality rates 27 percent lower and complication rates nearly 10 percent lower than national averages.
