Falls Church, VA – The Washington DC Metropolitan area is experiencing a critically low supply of blood and Inova Blood Donor Services is asking for residents in the DMV to donate and help support patients in local hospitals. At least 250 blood donations a day need to be collected to ensure the blood supply is available when it is needed the most.
Blood products are used daily in hospitals throughout the world to help patients who are in trauma, actively bleeding, undergoing surgeries, cancer treatment, and a variety of other medical reasons. Inova Blood Donor Services supplies 24 local hospitals in the Washington, DC metro region.
The mission of Inova Blood Donor Services, which partners with hospitals across the region, is to provide a safe and adequate blood supply for patients in the diverse community they serve, and cannot fulfill this mission without the help of regular blood donors. You can help by making a donation today and committing to donating regularly to ensure the supply is there when needed most. Every 3 seconds a patient somewhere in the US needs blood.

Walk-ins are welcome but you may also make an appointment at 1-866-BLOODSAVES (1-866-256-6372) and reference the event you’re interested in attending. Donors will need to present a photo ID with their birthdate.
