COVID-19 Vaccine: What you need to know

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released an updated immunization schedule, including new guidance for the 2025–26 COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Individuals ages 6 months and older are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine based on individual-based decision-making with a healthcare provider
  • In Virginia, individuals ages 3 and older may receive a COVID-19 vaccine at a pharmacy without a prescription

Where to get vaccinated:

  • Inova Primary Care clinics offer flu, COVID-19, and RSV vaccines to eligible patients.
  • Local pharmacies may also provide COVID-19 vaccines. Check with your preferred pharmacy for availability and age requirements
  • Insurance coverage may vary. Confirm details with your insurance provider

We will continue to monitor CDC guidance and share updates as recommendations evolve.
