Inova Schar Heart and Vascular has once again been recognized with a Mitral Valve Repair Reference Center Award from the American Heart Association and the Mitral Foundation. This marks the third consecutive year of Inova being recognized for a demonstrated record of superior outcomes for degenerative mitral valve repair.
The Mitral Valve Repair Reference Center Award was developed to identify, recognize and promote the nation’s best medical centers for mitral valve repair surgery. Clinical guidelines recommend mitral valve repair over valve replacement as the procedure offers improved survival rates and reduces the risk of long-term complications.
