Rina Bansal, MD, president of Inova Alexandria Hospital, has been featured in VIP Alexandria Magazine’s 2022 “Go Red for Women” issue.
Dr. Bansal notes that “it is a privilege and honor” to be the president of Inova Alexandria, which was founded in 1872 by a woman, Julia Johns.
The article notes that “as a physician and a woman, Bansal feels that heart health should be given particular focus” because awareness of women’s heart health can be a catalyst for women’s health globally.
Dr. Bansal also states that “Women’s health is the cornerstone of a family’s overall health and the health of a community. Thus, we must ensure that women have access to healthcare as well as awareness of issues impacting them.”
The magazine’s Go Red for Women 2022 issue also features Stephanie Beyer Kirby, who serves on Inova Alexandria Hospital’s Quality and Safety Committee as well as the board of the Capitol Children’s Museum.
Inova is celebrating heart month this February with a series of free Ask the Expert health lectures on heart-related topics.
