Asthma Could Increase Risk of COVID-19 Complications

The Frederick News-Post published a story on March 24 about the additional risks of COVID-19 complications that could be faced by those with underlying health conditions including asthma.

Having asthma does not make people more at risk of getting COVID-19, says Inova’s Amit (Bobby) K. Mahajan, MD, who also serves as a volunteer spokesman for the American Lung Association. But if a person were to become ill, they could have more complications.

The article notes that with warming weather on the way, allergens in the air can cause people with allergy-related asthma to have worse lung health.
