New Advanced Lung Disease Clinic Opens at Inova Loudoun Hospital
Virginians, Washingtonians, and South/West Marylanders Can Now Access the Most Comprehensive Advanced Lung Disease Programs in the Region — Right in Their “Backyard”
Leesburg, VA — Inova Loudoun Hospital (ILH) just opened an Advanced Lung Disease Clinic that brings Inova’s expertise in complex lung diseases to the local community. This expansion will provide access to the most comprehensive lung care in the region, making follow-up care more convenient and closer to home. The ILH Clinic is located on the hospital’s main campus in Lansdowne.
New patients will have their initial, comprehensive assessment and ongoing care at ILH. More complex cases may require follow-up care at Inova’s Advanced Lung Disease and Transplant Outpatient Clinic on IHVI’s Inova Fairfax Medical Campus.

Dr. Steven Nathan, Medical Director of Inova’s Advanced Lung Disease and Transplant Program, adds: “We are delighted to bring our Advanced Lung Disease program to Loudoun Hospital. We hope the new location will help ease the burden for local patients whose lung disease makes traveling to the Fairfax Medical Campus difficult.”
Inova’s highly specialized advanced lung disease and transplantation programs are nationally recognized with multiple accolades and accreditations. The collaborative care teams offer wide-ranging expertise in leading-edge treatment for complex lung conditions, including:
- Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), including conditions such as Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) and sarcoidosis
- Pulmonary Hypertension (PH), including Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH)
- Cystic Fibrosis (CF)
- Severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) that is unresponsive to standard treatment protocols and COPD due to Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency
- Lung Transplantation evaluation and post-transplantation management as end-stage treatment for chronic lung conditions
