“Ask the Expert” Lectures in January – Tips and Tricks for Managing Overactive Bladder and Robotic MAKOplasty® Total Hip & Knee Replacements

Leesburg, VA – As part of its free “Ask the Expert” lecture series, Inova Loudoun Hospital will host two lectures in January – “Tips and Tricks for Managing Overactive Bladder” on Monday, Jan. 28 and “Robotic MAKOplasty® Total Hip & Knee Replacements” on Wednesday, Jan. 30. Both lectures will be from 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Are frequent visits to the bathroom interfering with your job, social life, or personal relationships? If so, you may have overactive bladder. This condition impacts 33 million Americans. In fact, it’s estimated that 15 percent of women will deal with overactive bladder in their lifetime. Thankfully, there are varying treatment options – ranging from conservative lifestyle modifications to medications and surgical interventions – to manage overactive bladder. Join Urogynecologist Dr. Lauren Scott for an interactive discussion as she offers tips and tricks for managing the symptoms of overactive bladder.

Dr. Nauman Akhtar, Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and Medical Director of Inova Loudoun Hospital’s Joint Replacement Program, will offer an informative lecture and Q&A session about the latest advances in computer navigated and robotic-assisted hip and knee replacements.  Learn how MAKOplasty® Total Hip and Knee technology can help patients to improve mobility, minimize pain, and enjoy a more active lifestyle.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to “meet the robot”.

Inova Loudoun Hospital has earned the Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission in knee and hip replacement and is pleased to offer the latest technology in minimally-invasive robotic surgery.

The lectures will be held at Inova Loudoun Hospital — Physician’s Office Building, 44055 Riverside Parkway, Suite 110, Leesburg. Follow signs for the South Hospital Entrance.  Free on-site parking and valet services are available.
