Inova Mount Vernon Hospital Earns 8th Consecutive Patient Safety ‘A’ Grade from The Leapfrog Group
Alexandria VA, April 24 – Inova Mount Vernon Hospital today announced it has been awarded its 8th Consecutive “A” Safety Grade in new Hospital Safety Scores published by The Leapfrog Group, the nation’s premier patient safety watchdog advocacy organization.
The Leapfrog Patient Safety Grade assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to more than 2,500 hospitals across the country based on their performance in preventing medical errors, infections and other harms among patients in their care.
Inova Mount Vernon Hospital has now received “Straight A’s” for patient safety in every reporting period since 2014.

An “A” Hospital Safety Score represents the gold standard for patient safety and is compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading patient safety experts. The first and only hospital safety rating to be peer-reviewed in the Journal of Patient Safety, the Hospital Safety Score is free to the public and provides consumers information they can use to protect themselves and their families when facing a hospital stay.
