Inova Loudoun Hospital Announces Midwifery Director

Leesburg, VA — Inova Loudoun Hospital is pleased to announce Certified Nurse Midwife Monica Freidline as Midwifery Director of the Natural Birth Center at Inova Loudoun Hospital (ILH) – the region’s only hospital-based natural birth center.

Freidline is a certified nurse midwife, registered nurse, and nurse practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  She earned her Masters of Midwifery at Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, KY. In addition to over 180 hospital deliveries, she has attended 150 home births.

“We are thrilled that Monica will oversee our midwifery program here at Inova Loudoun. Monica and the rest of our team are committed to offering each mother her own unique birthing experience, always focusing on safety and quality,” said Cindy Andrejasich, RNC, MSN, NE-BC, Senior Director, Perinatal Services at ILH.

Prior to becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife, Freidline was a labor and delivery nurse for 15 years.  She has been delivering babies for two years at ILH in The Ladies Board Birthing Inn and Natural Birth Center.

“I became a certified nurse midwife to serve women who desire a holistic approach to pregnancy and childbirth in a hospital setting. It gives me great joy to provide families with education, obstetric care, and emotional support during the course of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum,” said Freidline.

Freidline lives in Fauquier with her husband and four daughters.

Inova Loudoun Hospital offers several delivery settings: the Ladies Board Birthing Inn and a Natural Birth Center.  Both locations offer expectant parents an intimate, personalized, and family

centered experience.  Should complications arise, patients of both The Birthing Inn and Natural Birth Center have seamless access to ILH’s Level IIIA NICU – Loudoun County’s only NICU.
