Grand Opening of Inova Personalized Health Accelerator is November 30, 2017
Program to Boost DC Metro Area Med Tech Ecosystem
Fairfax, VA. (November 22, 2017) – Inova has a new program for entrepreneurs looking to start a med-tech business, and the grand opening is at the end of this month. The Inova Personalized Health Accelerator (IPHA) provides substantial early stage investment coupled with a C-suite team of coaches, customized business plans, access to the Inova healthcare system and tools to help startups get off the ground. The IPHA ribbon-cutting event is November 30 at the Inova Center for Personalized Health, and it is now open to health tech entrepreneurs and investors to attend and learn about the program. “The Inova Personalized Health Accelerator will catalyze innovation in med-tech within our community,” said Rick Gordon, IPHA Director. “When you think of Washington D.C. and surrounding areas, you think of government and information technology; you don’t typically think of healthcare innovation. IPHA will change that perspective by creating a global hub for medical and health technology.”
The grand opening event is designed to be an opportunity for investors, entrepreneurs, and the regional community to network and learn about resources offered through IPHA. The event will be hosted at the Inova Center for Personalized Health from 6:15pm to 8:00pm. Health and med tech investors, entrepreneurs and professionals are invited to attend. Speakers at the launch will include Knox Singleton, CEO of Inova Health System, Todd Stottlemyer, CEO of the Inova Center for Personalized Health, Bruce Robertson, Managing Director of H.I.G. BioHealth Partners, Brian Murphy, General Partner at NewSpring, and Craig Asher, Principal at Vital Venture Capital.
The IPHA program provides a substantial early stage investment coupled with a C-suite team that is actively involved with each company, acting as an addition to their startup team. The IPHA program directors create a custom plan of action for each portfolio company to help accelerate value-creating milestones that will expedite the next round of funding. Participating companies receive access to the Inova healthcare system as a potential customer and advisor, and the Inova Strategic Investments network/portfolio as potential investor and strategic partner.
