Don Brideau, MD, Appointed CEO, Inova Mount Vernon Hospital and Vice President, Inova
Alexandria VA, April 24 – Inova today announced the permanent appointment of Don Brideau, MD, as Chief Executive Officer of Inova Mount Vernon Hospital (IMVH) and Vice President, Inova. Last month Brideau was appointed hospital Interim CEO.

Don’s strong track record of leadership during his 25 years at Inova, including the last eight in senior leadership roles, makes him ideal for this role.”
Brideau’s appointment is part of a leadership realignment at Inova, in which Susan Carroll, formerly CEO of Inova Alexandria Hospital, was promoted into the role of Regional Executive Officer over both Inova Mount Vernon and Inova Alexandria hospitals. This new structure allows Inova to better design healthcare delivery systems that are more flexible and responsive to both communities’ needs.
Carroll observed, “I am thrilled to welcome Don as Inova Mount Vernon Hospital CEO. Don has successfully led many of the hospital’s clinical and patient safety initiatives, and he has been instrumental in the hospital’s growth. He is a great fit for our community.”
Currently also serving as IMVH’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Brideau will serve in both capacities until a new CMO can be named. A search for his replacement as hospital CMO is now underway.
