My wife and I had a respiratory illness with fever around the middle of March. I also had an ear infection. I would like to give blood but I dont know if I had Covid19. Is there a way to find out before I give?

Thank you for your interest. In order to donate plasma for the COVID-19 clinical trial, you must have documentation of a confirmed positive test for COVID-19, and be symptom-free for 14 days. In order to be tested for COVID-19, please call your primary care physician to see if you can receive an order for testing.

If I was presumed positive with COVID-19, but have been symptom free for over a month, can I donate blood? I understand that I do not have the documentation for a confirmed case so I cannot donate plasma for the clinical trail.

At this time convalescent plasma donors must have had a positive COVID-19 test result that you can provide upon request. We will share any updates the FDA may make to the guidelines. Please find more information at Thank you for inquiry and willingness to make a lifesaving donation.
