Are you thinking about a facelift to fix sagging skin? Before you go under the knife, consider a liquid facelift. It can reverse signs of aging without the need for surgery. Below are some frequently asked questions.
What is a liquid facelift?
The procedure combines a neuromodulator (such as Dysport® or BOTOX®) to relax the muscles that cause fine lines and wrinkles, with a dermal filler (such as Restylane®) to lift, plump and re-contour facial features.
What technique is used in a liquid facelift?
As recently as a decade ago, it was common to inject dermal fillers directly into the area(s) of concern. But techniques have changed. Now, instead of injecting smile lines, for example, skincare professionals look at the entire face to see why those lines have developed. Usually there is loss of support in the cheeks. Adding volume to the cheeks is the appropriate procedure for most patients.
How much filler do I need?
Each face is different, so the amount of filler varies from patient to patient. The goal is to maintain a natural appearance.
How long does a liquid facelift last?
Dysport or BOTOX lasts three to four months. Dermal fillers can last from six to 18 months.
