Virginia Resort Unveils a Menu That is Healthy and is Enthusiastically Accepted by Kids With The Help of a Registered Dietitian
Leesburg, VA – Lansdowne Resort and Spa, A Destination Hotel and Inova Loudoun Hospital are partnering to encourage kids to take their first, delicious bite towards healthy eating. Over the next few months, Executive Chef Marcus Repp and Inova Registered Dietitian Wendy Johnson are joining forces to improve our children’s eating out experience.
Forget the chicken tenders, French fries and mac n cheese – a new delicious and healthy menu at Coton & Rye puts a spin on the traditional kids’ menu. The new menu includes dishes like the Sunny with a chance of Meatballs Spaghetti (turkey meatballs, crushed farm tomatoes, grated cheese, gluten-free angel hair noodles and local free-range turkey), Rainbow Party Smoothie (kale, blueberries, raspberries and choice of almond, rice, or coconut milk) and Zoo Cakes (zucchini, feta cheese, purple potato, and dunkin sour cream).
“Eating habits are developed during childhood and by educating families during these influential years that healthy eating is a lifelong habit, our children can be healthier adults,” said Johnson.

The menu was even designed with kids in mind; it will be displayed on collectible cards with engaging and educational content for the entire family. The new kids menu at Coton & Rye is slated to make its debut to the public on March 1st.
