Falls Church, VA – June 21, 2016  U.S. News & World Report has ranked Inova Children’s Hospital #45 in Pediatric Neonatology specialty in the new 2016-17 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings. Inova Children’s Hospital has been ranked in the Top 50 Best Children’s Hospitals in the nation for four years running.

The U.S. News Best Children’s Hospitals rankings help parents determine where to get the best medical care for their children. The rankings highlight the top 50 U.S. pediatric facilities in 10 specialties, from cancer to urology. 78 hospitals ranked in at least one specialty.

“We are extremely proud at Inova Children’s Hospital to have been ranked among the best in the nation for the fourth year in a row,” said David Ascher, MD, Chairman of Inova Children’s Hospital.  “We pride ourselves in providing the highest level of dedicated pediatric care, offering comprehensive medical services that are geared toward the unique treatment of critically ill and premature infants.  I’d like to congratulate the physicians, nurses, and staff of our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and thank them for the exceptional care they provide to our most vulnerable patients every day.”

The new state-of-the-art Inova Children’s Hospital opened its doors in January 2016.  The only dedicated children’s hospital in Northern Virginia, the facility has 108 Level IV NICU beds, the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and more than 400 board certified pediatricians and family practice physicians.  The Level IV NICU provides specialized care for babies born at Inova Women’s Hospital, as well as the premature and sick infants who need the highest level of neonatal care from throughout the region. Inova Women’s Hospital delivers nearly 10,000 babies each year and works hand-in-hand with Inova Children’s Hospital in Maternal Fetal Medicine and a team of pediatric subspecialties.

“The Best Children’s Hospitals highlight pediatric centers that offer exceptional care for the kids who need the most help,” said U.S. News Health Rankings Editor Avery Comarow. “Day in and day out, they deliver state-of-the-art medical care.”
