2011 Healthy Lifestyle MVP Award Nominations

Inova Health System and Washington Mystics Seek Community Participation

Falls Church, VA – (May 31, 2011) – In support of their on-going partnership to improve the health of the metropolitan community, Inova Health System and the Washington Mystics are soliciting individual or group nominations for the 2011 Healthy Lifestyle MVP Award, recognizing community members that have made a significant contribution to healthy lifestyles among young people.

Nominations may be submitted on line at www.inova.org/mystics by July 15, 2011, details include:

Categories

  • Youth: Promoting healthy lifestyles among peers under the age of 18
  • Individual: Promoting healthy lifestyles in a volunteer capacity
  • Group: Volunteer associations, service clubs, etc. promoting healthy lifestyles

Criteria

  • Scope of impact – The number of youths positively impacted
  • Outcomes- Results achieved
  • Innovation – Creative approaches

Award Winners will be honored August 20, 2011 at a special courtside Party Zone reception at the Verizon Center during the Washington Mystics basketball game vs. the Chicago Sky. Individual winners will receive 4 complimentary tickets and the group winner will receive 10 complimentary tickets to attend a Party Zone celebration, which includes food and beverages during the game. Winners will also be recognized during a half-time presentation.

Selection Process
A selection committee will score nominations using a numerical rating system based on the criteria above. Winners will be notified by August 1, 2011.
Eligibility
Nominee must be current resident of, or registered organization in VA, MD or DC. Employees of Inova Health System and Monumental Sports & Entertainment are not eligible.
