Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children Invites Families to ‘Cox Movies Under the Moon’

Free Outdoor Movie Event Featuring Big-Screen Hits to Benefit Hospital

Falls Church, VA – (June 18, 2010) — Bring the kids and a blanket, and settle down under the stars for four nights of box-office hits. From Thursday, June 24, through Sunday, June 27, Cox Communications will host its annual Cox Movies Under the Moon® at Van Dyck Park in Fairfax. The free outdoor film festival, which offers family–friendly entertainment, benefits Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children.

Spectators are encouraged to bring blankets and beach chairs, and purchase hotdogs, fresh popcorn and other treats from on-site vendors. Funds raised from the event will go to programs at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children, the only dedicated children’s hospital in Northern Virginia. The event raises an average of $10,000 each year.

The films are shown using state-of-the-art digital projection on a giant 40-foot by 20-foot
outdoor screen with a Dolby surround-sound system. Cox is partnering with the City of Fairfax and 97.1 WASH FM to present the event. Panera Bread also sponsors the film festival.

    This was an amazing event for people all ages. Will there ever be a return of movies under the moon?
