Award Places Hospital in Top 1 Percent Nationally

Fairfax, VA – (June 9, 2010) — Inova Fair Oaks Hospital has been named a recipient of the 2010 Premier Award for Quality (AFQ), which recognizes leading healthcare organizations that efficiently provide outstanding patient care and consistently set the standard in clinical excellence nationwide.

As a winner, Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is among acute-care hospitals attaining the top 1 percent designation with scores in the top two quintiles for quality, efficiency and process of care, as well as having measures for quality and efficiency that are equal to or exceed expected outcomes. There were 3,788 hospitals and 346 healthcare systems that were eligible to receive the AFQ. Inova Fair Oaks is one of just 21 hospital winners and one of three healthcare systems nationwide. The hospital is also the only one in the Washington, DC, region to earn a 2010 AFQ.
